Sonic Youth: Twilight's Jackson Rathbone

Sonic Youth: Twilight's Jackson Rathbone

Danielle Nussbaum enrolls in the school of rock with Twilight's Jackson Rathbone.

Before Jackson Rathbone landed the role of vampire Jasper Hale (one of Twilight's infamous Cullens) and became the face of the band 100 Monkeys, he was a dude who moved to Los Angeles to make his way as a musician. "I started out as a thirteen-year-old DJ, doing birthdays, quinceañeras, proms, et cetera. I got paid 20 bucks for my first party, and my parents had to drive me," he remembers. "After seeing the magical effect of music, I decided I had to start writing my own songs."

Jackson Rathbone Supports Little Kids Rock

While Budget Cuts Drain Lifeblood from Music Education, One Vampire Offers a Transfusion
“Twilight” saga actor and 100 Monkeys musician Jackson Rathbone joins honorary board of directors of charity, Little Kids Rock
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 27, 2011 — Actor and musician Jackson Rathbone is not OK with arts education programs being cut from public schools in his home of California and nationwide. That is why he is joining B.B. King, Slash, Bonnie Raitt, Ziggy Marley and several others on the Honorary Board of Directors of Little Kids Rock, a leading nonprofit provider of free musical instruments and teacher trainings to U.S. public schools.
Lauded for his role as Jasper Hale in the “Twilight” saga and currently on tour with his band, 100 Monkeys, Rathbone was looking for a way to give back to children who are not afforded the opportunities to pursue a career in the arts. That’s when he found Little Kids Rock.
“What an amazing organization this is,” he said of Little Kids Rock. “There are tons of children in inner city schools that never get a chance to experience a legitimate music education and I just don’t think that is right.”
Rathbone donated an autographed copy of the original “Twilight” script to the organization to auction.

Ever Imagined What Edward's Bachelor Party Was Be Like? We Don't Have To Wait Much Longer!

Jackson talked to a Houston radio station this morning and shared Breaking Dawn details, including a scene involving Edward's bachelor party that fans will get to see in the film.

"Twilight was an introduction to this vampire world. New Moon was an introduction into the werewolf world. Eclipse was kind of a balance of how those worlds exist and can co-exist against the Volturi," he explained. "And then here in the final two chapters of Breaking Dawn, we get to see Bella transform into a vampire and we get to see the consummation of the relationship between Edward and Bella, which I think is what everybody’s been waiting on. Trust me, you’re gonna see it."

When asked about Edward Cullen's bachelor party scene, he joked, "Well you get to see a little of the bachelor party, but we can’t show you all of it. You know, what happens at the bachelor party stays at the bachelor party, you know what I’m talking about."
